About this experience
Come join us on the water, create memories and photo ops that will last a lifetime on the most photographed vessel in the harbor in the world famous Crab Island. Nothing will compare to the smiles and waves you'll get cruising through the Destin Harbor on the Original Tiki Bar Boats on your way to Crab Island. Once there, your Captain will drop the anchor and the swim ladder for you to enjoy a truly Destin experience.
We provide a cooler, ice, cups/shot glasses, bottle openers and bottled water. We do also have floats for you but you are free to bring your own as we do have pumps on board. Bring your own beverages and snacks and enjoy!
We DO NOT serve or sell alcohol and it is illegal to purchase or receive alcohol on Crab Island. You are welcome to bring your own and glass bottles are OK!

Planning perspective
How I’d plan this experience
I’d choose this three-hour Crab Island outing for a small, sociable group that wants a captain-led boat ride but plans to make its own fun once anchored. It is not a full-service party cruise: the appeal is the compact shared boat, the harbor cruise, and unstructured floating time, with drinks and snacks largely in your hands. For couples, friends, and families comfortable with that DIY rhythm, I think the format is refreshingly simple.
Who this shared boat suits
The shared trip is capped at six travellers, so I’d favour it for a group that values a smaller setting over a large-boat atmosphere. Bringing several people you already enjoy spending time with is the clearest way to shape the mood; if you book fewer places, expect a shared experience rather than a private charter.
Children are welcome, but infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap. I’d view this as a relaxed water day for families who can manage that arrangement, rather than an excursion built around children’s activities.
Plan it as a bring-your-own sandbar session
My advice is to pack the food, beverages and floats that will make three hours comfortable for your group. A cooler, ice, cups, openers and bottled water are provided, while alcohol is specifically excluded; that makes this a good match for travellers who prefer control over what they bring instead of expecting a hosted bar or meal.
You can bring your own floats, and an electric pump is available on board. I’d use that flexibility for one or two items your group will genuinely use, rather than treating the boat as a fully equipped beach-club setup.
Expect a simple cruise-and-anchor rhythm
The fixed three-hour duration combines a captain-guided cruise through Destin Harbor with time anchored at Crab Island, where the swim ladder is lowered. I’d recommend it to travellers happy to float, swim and linger rather than those looking for a sightseeing itinerary with several stops or a tightly programmed activity schedule.
Captain interaction appears to be an important part of the experience, with feedback repeatedly highlighting helpful, knowledgeable and friendly captains. That suggests asking practical local questions once aboard, while still treating the sandbar time as self-directed.
Allow extra time—and be firm about the trade-off
Arrive 30 minutes early for kiosk check-in; the captain collects guests there to go to the boat. I’d build that buffer into your day rather than scheduling something immediately beforehand, especially because there is no pickup option listed.
The material makes the cancellation trade-off unusually important: sales are final with no refund for cancellations, although weather and insufficient-traveller cancellations are identified separately. I’d only commit once your group’s timing is genuinely settled. Also, don’t plan around extras that are not clearly included: feedback specifically notes that an expected onboard restroom and slide were not present.
